Whether you're planning a relaxing countryside escape or looking to experience some of the area's biggest annual events, there's plenty to fill your itinerary. Here are some of our top recommendations for guests staying in our holiday cottages this August.

What are the best events in Broadway and Bretforton in August?

Battle of Evesham Medieval Festival (1st–3rd August 2026)

Just a short drive from our cottages, the Battle of Evesham Medieval Festival is one of Worcestershire's biggest annual events. The weekend commemorates the historic Battle of Evesham in 1265 and attracts thousands of visitors from across the country.

Expect impressive medieval battle re-enactments, a colourful parade through Evesham, living history camps, traditional crafts, falconry displays and plenty of family entertainment. It's a fascinating day out for history lovers and families alike, with free entry making it even more appealing.

Broadway Car Show (15th–16th August 2026)

If you're staying in one of our Broadway cottages, you'll be perfectly placed to enjoy one of the village's most popular events.

Held every two years, the Broadway Car Show fills the High Street with an incredible collection of classic cars, vintage vehicles, modern supercars and specialist displays. Throughout the weekend you'll find hundreds of stunning vehicles, food stalls, entertainment and a fantastic atmosphere as visitors explore one of the Cotswolds' most picturesque villages.

The festival includes colourful parades, live music, family entertainment, food and drink, craft stalls and, of course, plenty of opportunities to sample locally grown plums and plum-inspired produce. Pershore is only a short drive from Broadway and Bretforton, making it an easy addition to your August itinerary.
